To get buried utility lines marked in before you dig, contact Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 or visit OntarioOneCall.ca to submit a locate request at least five business days before your project starts. They will notify the local utility companies to send a free locator to mark the lines, ensuring safety and preventing costly damage to underground infrastructure like gas, water, and electrical lines.

  • 2.⁠ ⁠Wait for the locators:
    You must submit your request at least five business days before you plan to dig to allow time for the utility companies to respond.

    Free utility locators will come to your site and mark the location of the buried infrastructure using paint or flags.
  • 4.⁠ ⁠Dig safely:
    Do not start digging until you have received all responses and the marks are in place. Respect the marks and follow any instructions provided by the locator to ensure safe excavation.
